Sara McCleary - Sara McCleary

A long-time resident of beautiful Northern Ontario, I am the proud owner of an honours B.A. in History from Algoma University and an M.A. in History from Queen's University. While I have a well-rounded education in a variety of historical subjects, my specialties are Canadian and American political history and the history of North America's aboriginal peoples. My B.A. thesis was entitled "The King of Camelot vs Tricky Dick: A New Analysis of Two American Icons", in which I compared the presidencies of JFK and Nixon from a new angle. My master's thesis examined the ways British women in Upper Canada in the 1830s used their understandings of aboriginal gender and family relations to reaffirm their own senses of identity. After a break of a few years, I plan to go on to complete my Ph.D.
